Preventative Maintenance Plans
Maintenance program is proposed as a long-term preventative measure to help combat deterioration of the intake doors and the discharge doors at your property. This service also helps identify any issues with the chute system regarding NFPA compliance. Our experts inspect, maintain, and repair your intake and discharge doors for safer environment.

Trash & Linen Chute Cleanings
Power washing of the entire chute system, as well as a liquid enzyme pre-treatment prior to cleaning. This process includes cleaning of each floor’s intake doors, trash room, and compactor (if applicable). After completion, an odor-neutralizing solution will be sprayed inside the chute, and stainless-steel polish applied to the intake doors. It is recommended that the chute cleaning will be scheduled annually.
Chute Repairs & Replacement
Replacement and repairs of chute systems as needed to insure they are to NFPA compliance.

Odor Control & Ambient Scenting
Two types of scent dispensers are available.
Odor Control Scents for larger spaces and trash rooms.
Fan Dispensers for smaller spaces and restrooms.
Inspections
The inspection will help us determine if the property is compliant with NFPA safety standards as it relates to trash/linen chute codes. If repairs are needed, a proposal will be emailed to the property manager with those recommendation

JD West is the co-owner and General Manager of Gulf Coast Chute Services, bringing more than 15 years of leadership experience in sales, operations, and service management. Known for his strategic thinking and strong customer relationships, JD leads the company's business development, sales strategy, and overall operations.
JD's entrepreneurial experience also includes founding and operating a youth baseball umpiring association where he managed scheduling, training, and business operations. His leadership style is grounded in integrity, teamwork, and community involvement, demonstrated through his time coaching high school football and supporting local organizations.
JD holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and is OSHA-10 certified.
Roger Wheeler
Owner | Operations Manager
Roger Wheeler is the co-owner and Operations Manager of Gulf Coast Chutes Services, responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations, inspections, and service delivery. With a strong hands-on background in construction, plumbing, and mechanical systems, Roger ensures that every project meets the company’s high standards for safety and quality.
Roger’s technical background includes work in plumbing, irrigation systems, and facilities maintenance, giving him a well-rounded skill set that supports complex repair and installation projects. He is OSHA-10 certified and is known for his practical problem-solving approach and commitment to delivering reliable service.

Prevenative Maintenance Includes:
- Clean intake doors and frames, discharge doors and rails
· Lube and adjust all doors and moving parts (latches, barrels, handles, wheels, etc.)
· Clean outside face of door with stainless-steel polish
· Verify that all safety features are functioning (intake doors self-close and self-latch, discharge door is held open with a fusible link) per NFPA standards
· Upon completion of service, should the chute doors require more extensive repairs, an estimate will be provided.
What is Included in Preventative Maintenance?
What Scents Are Available for Odor Control in Larger Spaces and Trash Rooms? How Does It Work?
These are liquid scents. The machines for the liquid scents use a cannister that holds the fragrance and releases it into the air over time. The scents available are:

What Scents Are Available for Odor Control and Ambient Smell in Smaller Spaces and Restrooms? How Does It Work?
We offer gel cap scents. The machines have a small fan that blows air over the gel cap, gently releasing the fragrance into the space. The scents available are:
- Pink Grapefruit
- Evergreen Pine
- Fresh Linen
